Although the majority of therapists are aware of the importance of stabilisation and establishing safety before anything else, it can be really difficult to translate this into practise. Whether you are working with single incident or complex trauma, the work can be very challenging and it often requires a very different approach.
In this workshop hour we will look at the signs of distress, some of which can be very subtle and then how to personalise stabilisation for each clients unique needs. The approach will be interactive and you will be encouraged to share your own understanding, techniques and experiences so that we can all learn from each other.
Kim has been specialising in trauma for over 10 years and has a BA(Hons) in Reflective Therapeutic Practice focussing on early relational trauma and its impact.
